Why is it that almost all young people think lil wayne is the best rapper alive?
I'm in 8th grade and everybody know says lil wayne is the best and T.I comes next.

    Because 8th graders weren't old enough to know about Rakim. Tupac, and Biggie etc. And they obviously don't listen to underground or old school.

    They are lazy, they turn on the radio/tv and like what they're told to like. They don't look for better music, or they don't have access to the better music.

    B/CUZ THEY DON'T KNOW NE OTHER RAPPERS FROM THE PAST LIKE BIGGIE OR TUPAC SO THEY PICK UP ON LIL'WAYNE N T.I. B/CUZ THAT'S WHAT THEY HEAR NOWADAYS. TAKE ME 4 EXAMPLE. EVERY1 TALK ABOUT HOW GOOD THESE OLD RAPPERS WHERE BUT I CAN'T REALLY RELATE 2 DAT OLD SKOOL STUFF. NO OFFENSE!!!!!!

    I'm in eigth grade also and I dislike lil wayne. i cannot understand what he says.his lyrics are stupid.T.I is alright.better than lil wayne, but there are PLENTY of other singers out there who actually make sense :)No offense to anyone who likes them.

    Today's rap sucks. Period. Back in the day they actually put effort in to writing rap. Not some BS like "this is why i'm hot" being repeated over and over again. Today I find it's so hard to find quality rap. Tupac was the best rapper. Best rapper alive today, I'd say Lupe Fiasco is one of my favourites.

    weezy actually is a great rapper . alotta rappers today are not so good ,theyy just edit it all into one song ,but they really dont do it all at once. lil wayne sounds the same live as he does on his album(s)hes also everywhere ,half the songs on the radio hes in .     Rap is really terrible stuff, in my opinion. I do like hip-hop though. Nothing with bad lyrics though. I feel like because of it's lack of instrumentation and it's focus on vocals hip hop and rap should really almost be like poetry. Something that means something, you know?Something like "This plastic life that we're fed intravenouslyThe tubes that we watch religiouslyNot real, nothin' is, nothin' begins without an endThis is big business but back to the test againJustice will fail us we must look from within"-Orinary Joe (WCH) by Weerd ScienceNot like "The hottest ***' in this city baby you can't ignore itI showed her I was the real ***' and she went for it"-Shawty by T PainSo to answer your question, the kids in your grade A. Don't have the comprehension to understand anything deeper than "shawty imma have sex with you uh uh uh" B. Eat up what is force fed to them by MTV, Fuse, and all those other channels.C. Just don't know what else is out there for them to listen to.Enjoy the good stuff man, and don't be afraid to go out and look for new artists. That's where the cream of the crop is.
