Is nicki minaj really from southside?
because i asked around my neighborhood and no one seems to know her down there

    Southside of NY is pretty big...I doubt if your homies are gonna know everybody...

    Allot of rappers aren't from where they claim to be...and allot of rappers just claim the closest neighborhood to them.. I heard notorious b.i.g. really wasn't from bed stey(sorry for spelling if it's wrong) but that he lived really close and use to kick it in the neighborhood. Allot of rapper claim compton but they are really from 5 minutes away,or live a couple minutes from the neighborhood they claim,nothing wrong with that if thats your hood. for instance me my hood is 45 minutes from here and I had to move for a couple months but I'm moving back but nobody really forgot me,like you can pull up and ask about me and they'll be like yeah he use to live right there and he use to kick it here. so if she kicked it,lived,or visited your hood they should be able to tell you. also know just because a few people from your side of town say they don't know here doesn't really mean allot she could be from the southside but from a different block,she might not live on the same exact block as you,like me for instance i'm very popular on the side i use to live on and allot of people know me and allot of people use to see me there all the time,but on the west side I go their to hang sometimes and only know a few girls over there and only know a few people but I got a high profile so if someone meets me once they usually don't forget,and remember who i am. someone thats a rapper usually has a high profile so you should know if shes from where she says if you grew up in the same hood because u would of went to school with her or seen her at partys. she may also not have allot of friends or not be popular and have a low profile that might be why no one remembers her if she holds a low profile.

    That Dude said Southside of NY. Southside Jamaica, Queens? Yea That.I'm from Brooklyn, Brownsville to be exact, a lot of artist say that they are from Brooklyn and when you ask around about them,since they always claim they be in the hood, nobody knows them. I think they do that because they know NY is popular and when you a artist that's coming out of NY a lot of people will support them if they came from NY. Like that new rapper Future he be screaming out BK BK (Brooklyn) when he from Florida. Southside, Queens is like the bad part of QU and maybe Nicki Minaj wants people to look at her as bad or hardcore because she "says she's from there". A lot of rappers always claim they from the bad part of something to make them look Hardcore like, T.I, he be screaming out Bankhead, the wild part of ATL, when this dude is from Riverdale. Rappers need to be real if your from the corny @$$ part of something, your just from that corny part. Nobody scare of them out here because they claim rough parts. Biggie was born in Jamaica him and Jay is some real @$$ dudes. Like Tu PAC, that dude is from the Bronx but ever since something pop off in NY with him, he started screaming Cali.I know I'ma get some thumps down from the NY haters but, I don't care. Brooklyn all day everyday! Queens What Up! (lol) I just thought I'll give your hood a shout out too. Peace
